Universal Credit statistics
Universal Credit is a new payment to help support households that are out of work or are on a low income. Universal Credit was introduced in Northern Ireland on a phased geographical basis from 27 September 2017.
Statistics have been compiled on the following:
- The number of claimants and households on Universal Credit
- Family type of households on Universal Credit
- Average payments households receive
- Statistics on housing support
- Where Universal Credit claimants are located
- The work conditionality regime that claimants belong to
Latest Universal Credit Publication
As a result of recent changes to the Universal Credit statistical data build, more time is required for the quality assurance of this data. Therefore, the release of the UC Statistical Publication (November 2024) due 26 February 2025 has been cancelled. A new date for this publication will be announced in due course, once the quality assurance process is complete.
